Event Styling Trends 2019

The trends our research has shown are on their way to the New Zealand shores in 2019! Eat your heart out soul sisters.

Organic-Feel Materials

We are talking rattan furniture, jute placemats and rugs.. the more earthy the better! And we are totally okay with this. Our circular jute rug, black rattan peacock chair and matching table get a feature above (bottom left). Jump over to our hire page to book them in for your next event.

Monochrome Accents

Anyone who knows me will know that I can't get enough of monochrome tones, so this trend is music to my ears. Oh so chic and oh soooo timeless! Dress it up with small pops of colour, but keep the colour palette quite minimalistic for this trend. Top middle is our very own black and white memo board and bottom left are a small selection of our crocheted doilies, perfect to add a touch of boho to your decor.

Dried Flowers

I have long been a fan of dried flowers. They are the perfect way to add an ethereal touch to your event, with an added bonus being their affordability. For my own wedding in December 2018 I lined the ceremony aisle with arrangements of dried toi toi (similar to that featured in my set up bottom left) and they looked amazing... if I do say so myself hehe.

Luxe Fabrics with Rich Colour Pops

Velvet, velvet, velvet.. oh, did I mention velvet? I can't get enough! From napkins to table runners, archway fabrics to chair coverings, and everything in between. Throw this beautiful fabric around like confetti this season. Play around with colours too. As I mentioned on a previous blog post, pops of colours such as emerald, burgundy, mediteranean-esque blues and mustard are expected to make a return in 2019. Our gorgeous mustard velvet-look tassle cushions (bottom left) are a stunning addition to any earthy toned event. Or perhaps our black velvet ottoman paired with our duck-egg blue throw and white macrame pillows (top middle) are more your vibe. Ceramics, Metals + Mixed Glassware

The more eclectic the mix, the more on trend. All the pieces above (except top left) belong to Indie + Ivory. Just ensure when choosing your collection that you go for pieces that complement each other. If that's not something that comes naturally to you, ask for help. Trust me, it's an investment. And we are more than happy to put together a dream board for you, it's what we love most after all... except for maybe velvet.. did I mention how much I love velvet?
